Projects

Seven kitchens, each published with the construction behind it. Every image on this site is of work we have made.

What is here, and what is not

Seven commissions, in London, Suffolk, Essex and Oxfordshire. Each one is a kitchen we drew, made, finished and fitted, photographed as it was handed over.

What is not here is more instructive. There are no computer visuals presented as finished rooms, no library photographs, and no kitchens made by anybody else. When a job is not photographed well enough we leave it out rather than pad the page, which is why there are seven and not thirty.

How to read them

Each project names the range it was built in, and each range page links back to the projects made in it. If you like a kitchen here, the range page tells you how it is constructed and roughly what it costs.

The specification panel on every project is the same, because the construction is the same on every commission we make: birch ply carcasses, solid timber face frames, hand-cut dovetails, four coats of paint brushed in our own finishing room. The door changes. The box does not.

The full schedule for any commission — door style, timber, finish reference, worktop, ironmongery and appliances — goes to specifiers on request. We do not publish clients’ paint colours on a public website.

Where we work

Most of our work is within two hours of the workshop at Mickfield: Suffolk, Essex, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and London. A meaningful part of it is further — the Home Counties, the West Country, Scotland, and increasingly Europe and the United States.

Distance affects the programme, not the price of the joinery. What changes is the survey, the delivery and the number of nights the fitting team is away, and all of that is priced in the quotation rather than added afterwards.
