The Reeve & Co Group

Square & True builds kitchens in a yard on Stonham Road at Mickfield, in Suffolk. We are not there alone. Three other workshops and a bathroom company work from the same site, all run by the Reeve family, and most of them staffed by the same people you would meet here. Together they are known as the Reeve & Co Group — presentational wording only. Square & True, Reeve & Co Interiors, Bryn Hall and Sporting Cabinetmakers are trading names of one company, Reeve & Co Interiors Ltd, not subsidiaries. This page sets out who they are, what they make, and how to reach them.

Why there is more than one name

Reeve & Co Interiors Ltd has been making bespoke joinery in Suffolk since 2015. As the work specialised, parts of it earned their own names, their own catalogues and their own clients. They are not separate factories. They are the same benches, the same finishing shop and the same people, addressed to different briefs.

Square & True

You are on this site. The kitchen work of this workshop under its own name: in-frame and hand-painted kitchens for period houses, listed buildings and lateral conversions, and quieter contemporary work for architects. Sculleries, pantries, boot rooms and utility rooms are usually part of the same commission.

Reeve & Co Interiors

Reeve & Co Interiors is the original workshop, and the reason the rest of us exist. It designs, makes and installs fitted joinery for private houses: libraries, panelled rooms, staircases, wardrobes, studies, hidden doors and whole-house packages, mostly for architects and private clients in London, the Home Counties and East Anglia.

It is the oldest name on the yard and the one with the widest reach. Where Square & True concentrates on the kitchen and the rooms that serve it, Reeve & Co takes on the rest of the house, and the harder problems: listed buildings, awkward geometry, new work that has to match what a Georgian joiner left behind. The drawing office, the machine shop and the polishing shop are shared between us, which is why a kitchen commissioned here sits comfortably alongside a library fitted next door.

If your project needs more than a kitchen — panelling in the hall, a study to match, wardrobes upstairs — the sensible route is one conversation across both workshops. We do it often, and it usually means one design language and one installation team across the whole house.

Bryn Hall

Bryn Hall makes freestanding furniture: tables, chairs, dressers, sideboards, beds and bookcases, in ten collections that run from Welsh vernacular to Georgian and Gothic. Everything is made to order, to any size, in the same workshop and by the same hands as the fitted work, then polished and delivered by the workshop’s own team.

It exists because freestanding furniture deserves its own name and its own catalogue rather than a page at the back of a joinery brochure. A refectory table that will take a scrubbing, a dresser sized to a low ceiling, a four-poster built for an odd alcove — that is Bryn Hall’s territory. It will also copy or match antiques, which is useful when one good chair needs to become eight.

For a kitchen client the overlap is obvious: the table and chairs that sit in the kitchen, we make. Commission them together and they arrive together, in finishes that agree with the cabinetry.

Sporting Cabinetmakers

Sporting Cabinetmakers is the newest name on the yard, and it does one thing: cabinets for guns and sporting equipment, built to the same cabinetmaking standard as everything else made here and to the security requirements the subject demands. Gun cabinets have been made at Mickfield for years under the Reeve & Co name; they now have a dedicated team and a site of their own at sportingcabinetmakers.com, covering fitted gun rooms, steel-lined rooms, bespoke cabinets and sporting storage.

Old Fashioned Bathrooms

Old Fashioned Bathrooms is the one that is not a workshop and not the same company. It is a separate family business run from the same site, supplying traditional and period bathrooms: cast iron baths, high-level cisterns, tiles, brassware and complete suites, with a showroom at Mickfield and delivery across the UK. If a house getting one of our kitchens also needs bathrooms that suit its age, this is where we send people.

All of it is made or supplied from the same site on Stonham Road at Mickfield, between Stowmarket and Debenham. The workshop runs on solar generated on its own roofs, heats itself by burning its own waste timber, and has EV charging in the yard. Visitors are welcome by appointment.

Square & True, Bryn Hall and Sporting Cabinetmakers are trading names of Reeve & Co Interiors Ltd. Old Fashioned Bathrooms is the bathroom company in the same yard at Mickfield. We keep them separate because someone looking for a kitchen, a dining table or a gun cabinet is better served by a specialist than by a category page — but the drawings, the bench, the spray shop and the fitting team are the same, so finishes match across whatever you order.
