About

Square & True is the kitchen work of Reeve & Co Interiors, a joinery house founded in Suffolk in 2015.

Who makes this

Square & True is a trading name of Reeve & Co Interiors Ltd, a joinery house founded in 2015 by Torben Reeve and based at Mickfield in Suffolk. There are ten of us and we all work in the same building.

Reeve & Co makes architectural joinery for high-end residential work: panelling, libraries, staircases, doors and windows, fitted furniture and whole-house fit-outs, for private clients, architects and main contractors across London, the Home Counties and East Anglia, and increasingly abroad.

Square & True exists because kitchens deserved their own front door. A kitchen buyer is not looking for a joinery firm that also does kitchens; they are looking for kitchen makers. The workshop, the people and the standards are identical — it is the same benches and the same hands.

Why it is a separate name

Three reasons, and the first is honest self-interest: a kitchen specialist can say things a generalist cannot, and can build a body of work that reads as a body of work rather than a section of a portfolio.

The second is that the two buyers want different things. An architect specifying panelling wants tolerances, programme and a CAD block. A family building a kitchen wants to know what it costs, how long it takes and whether the paint chips. Trying to serve both from one page serves neither.

The third is that we would rather be judged on the kitchens. If they are not good enough to carry their own name, they are not good enough.

The rest of the house

A kitchen is rarely the only thing a house needs, and it is unusual for us to make only the kitchen. The same workshop makes the boot room, the library, the panelling in the hall and the wardrobes upstairs, and it is cheaper and better to draw all of it at once.

For bathrooms there is a sister business. Old Fashioned Bathrooms is a specialist in traditional and period bathroom fittings, run by the same family from the same site, with its own showroom and its own product ranges — much of it exclusive and not available elsewhere in the UK.

The standard we are trying to hold

Quality before speed. We would rather take longer and get it right, and we would rather tell you something is a bad idea than take the money and make it.

That extends to what appears on this website. Our clients’ kitchens are private, so the images here are visualisations produced from our own workshop drawings, for commissions we have made. The drawings, the timber samples and the references behind them are real, and we would rather show you all three at Mickfield than ask you to take a photograph on trust.

Four names, one workshop

Square & True, Bryn Hall and Sporting Cabinetmakers are trading names of Reeve & Co Interiors Ltd. Old Fashioned Bathrooms is the bathroom company in the same yard at Mickfield. We keep them separate because someone looking for a kitchen, a dining table or a gun cabinet is better served by a specialist than by a category page — but the drawings, the bench, the spray shop and the fitting team are the same, so finishes match across whatever you order.

In our clients' words

From the first design meeting to the final installation, Reeve & Co were outstanding. The new kitchen has completely transformed how we live as a family - it feels calm, beautifully made and works perfectly day to day.

Private client, Rendham, Suffolk

Our brief was a classic English kitchen with a contemporary edge. Reeve & Co absolutely nailed it - beautiful proportions, stunning island, and joinery that feels like it will last a lifetime. It has genuinely added value to our home.

Private client, Wattisham, Suffolk

The finished rooms are even better than we imagined. Beautiful joinery, thoughtful lighting, and a level of craftsmanship you just don't see in off-the-shelf kitchens. It feels like a proper investment rather than a temporary makeover.

Private client, Chelsea, London

The quality of the cabinetry is on another level - every drawer is solid, doors close softly and the paint finish is flawless. Visitors always comment on the pantry and hidden storage; it's both practical and a real showpiece.

Private client, Ipswich, Suffolk

We were nervous about doing a full ground-floor renovation, but Reeve & Co guided us through every decision. They listened to how we actually use the space and created a layout that flows so much better, with clever storage tucked everywhere.

Private client, Westminster, London

Communication was excellent throughout. We always knew who was on site, what was happening next and where we were against budget. Any small snag was dealt with quickly and professionally, which gave us huge confidence in the team.

What impressed me most was how tidy and respectful the fitters were in our home. They coordinated seamlessly with our builder and electrician, and nothing was too much trouble. The whole process felt remarkably stress-free for a project of this size.

Private client, Needham Market, Suffolk

The design team quickly understood our taste and presented options that felt like 'us' straight away. We tweaked a few details together and ended up with a scheme that feels both timeless and totally personal, not like something lifted from a catalogue.

Private client, Hammersmith, London

We've used Reeve & Co twice now - first for our kitchen and more recently for fitted wardrobes and a dressing room. The consistency of quality and attention to detail across both projects has been superb, which is why we keep coming back.

Private client, Rendham, Suffolk

As busy professionals, we really valued that Reeve & Co handled everything - design, site surveys, drawings, manufacture and installation. They coordinated with our other trades so we didn't have to, and everything landed exactly when they said it would.

Written about Reeve & Co Interiors, the joinery company behind Square & True. Same workshop, same people, same benches. Not a word has been changed.
