How the shop works
Delivery
Nearly everything here is held in stock and reaches our workshop the next working day, where we check it before it comes to you.
Allow three to five working days for stock items. Anything ordered in specially takes longer, and we confirm a date in writing before we take payment.
Carriage
Smaller items travel by overnight carrier at £9.50.
Range cookers and heavy appliances go palletised or on our own van, charged by postcode and shown at checkout before you pay. Several ranges carry free delivery — it is priced on the product page.
Payment
Card payment in full at the time of order, taken securely — we never see or hold your card details.
All prices include VAT at 20%. A VAT invoice follows by email with your confirmation.
On delivery — please read
Check the goods before signing, and mark anything missing on the delivery note at the time.
Any damage must be reported to us within 24 hours of delivery, with photographs taken before unpacking further. Transit damage reported after 24 hours cannot be claimed against the carrier, and we may be unable to replace free of charge.
Cancelling and returning
You may cancel within 14 days of receiving your order and return the goods unused, unfitted and in their original packaging. We will refund you.
After those 14 days, returns are at our discretion and a restocking charge applies. Items ordered in specially may carry a charge at any stage. Full terms are on our terms and conditions page.
Specifying for a project
Architects, designers and builders: we can supply schedules, technical drawings and lead times for a whole house.
Everything here can also be specified into a Square & True kitchen and fitted by the people who made the cabinetry.
The workshop shop
Specified by cabinetmakers,
not by a catalogue
We build kitchens for a living. Everything here is something we fit in our own work at Mickfield — chosen because it lasts, sits properly in joinery, and does not embarrass us three years later.

Why buy from a cabinetmaker
We fit these ourselves
Every week, in our own kitchens. We know which ovens sit flush, which hoods are quiet, and which sinks need extra support beneath them — because we have built the cabinet around them.
Checked before it leaves
Goods come to the workshop at Mickfield first. We open them, check them and send them on. A damaged appliance is our problem before it is ever yours.
One trade, not four
Kitchen, appliances, taps, sinks and the joinery around them from the same workshop, drawn together and finish-matched. One delivery, one invoice, one person answering the telephone.
Advice worth having
Tell us the room and we will tell you honestly what suits it, including when the cheaper model is the right one. We would rather sell you the correct thing once.
Kitchen appliances, taps and sinks from a Suffolk workshop
Square & True is a cabinetmaking workshop at Mickfield, near Stowmarket. We draw, make, hand-paint and fit bespoke English kitchens, and this shop exists because our clients kept asking us to supply the appliances and brassware that go into them. Every line we carry is something we are willing to put into our own work.
Why buy appliances from a kitchen maker
Most appliance retailers sell boxes. They can quote a price and a delivery date, but they have never had to cut an aperture for the model they are selling, or discover that a hood needs a hundred and fifty millimetres of ducting the room does not have. We have. That difference usually shows up at installation, when it is expensive.
When you buy an oven from us we can tell you the true carcass depth it needs, whether its door clears the island, and how it looks beside a painted in-frame run rather than in a showroom. If the kitchen is being made here as well, we build the cabinetry around it and there is nothing to co-ordinate.
The makers we carry
Perrin & Rowe brassware is made in Britain and can be rebuilt rather than replaced. Shaws fireclay sinks have been made in Darwen since 1897. ILVE and Bertazzoni build range cookers that will outlast the kitchen around them. Siemens, Fisher & Paykel and Liebherr cover the integrated appliances; Faber and Rangemaster the extraction. Where a maker offers a cheaper sub-range we would not fit ourselves, we do not list it.
Specifying for a whole house
For architects, interior designers and main contractors we can supply a full appliance and brassware schedule against your drawings, with lead times, cut-out dimensions and service requirements set out properly. That is quicker than pricing line by line, and it means one delivery to site rather than eleven.
Where we deliver
Throughout the United Kingdom. Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire are usually covered on our own van; further afield goes palletised or direct from the manufacturer. Carriage is calculated by postcode and shown before you pay, and collection from the workshop at Mickfield is always free.

Allow three to five working days for stock items. Anything ordered in specially takes longer, and we confirm a date in writing before we take payment.
Carriage
Taps, wastes and small fittings go by carrier at £9.50. Instant hot water taps are £15.
Appliances and all sinks travel palletised at £150 on the UK mainland, or £310 to the Scottish Highlands and Islands. Several ILVE ranges carry free delivery.
One carriage charge per order — add a tap to a range cooker and you pay for the cooker only.
What a pallet delivery is
Palletised delivery is kerbside and one man. The driver brings the goods to the nearest hard standing; he cannot carry an appliance through the house or up a staircase.
Please have someone able to receive it and somewhere dry to put it. If nobody is there the carrier charges for the failed attempt, and we have to pass that on.
If you need it carried in and positioned, tell us before you order and we will price it properly.
