Contact

Two people read everything that comes in, and one of them will be the person who draws your kitchen.

Telephone 01449 710510 · WhatsApp 07539 100136 · hello@squareandtrue.uk
Or use the enquiry form on this page. We answer within one working day, and if the answer needs a drawing we say when the drawing will come.

How to reach us

Telephone 01449 710510, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. The office is at the workshop, so if the phone rings out it is because everyone is on the shop floor or on site. Leave a message and we return it the same day.

WhatsApp 07539 100136. Good for a photograph of a wall, a question from site, or a measurement you want checked before you order stone. One thing so it is not a surprise: the account is registered to Reeve & Co Interiors, the joinery company behind Square & True, so that is the name at the top of the chat. It reaches the same office and the same two people.

Write to hello@squareandtrue.uk. Email is read by Torben Reeve and Oliver Manning. We answer within one working day, and if the answer needs a drawing we say when the drawing will come rather than sending a holding note.

What happens after you get in touch

Oliver or Torben telephones you. That call takes twenty to thirty minutes. We ask about the house, the room, the walls you intend to keep, who else is involved, and the date you want to be cooking again. We will ask about money on that first call, because a brief and a budget that do not meet are better separated early than after three meetings.

If the project is live and the numbers work, we send the Specification Book. It is linen-bound, it has timber and paint samples tipped in by hand, and it is posted, not emailed.

After that there are two routes. Come to the workshop and see the work being made, which costs nothing. Or commission the design consultation at £500, which is credited in full against the kitchen.

We do not send a salesman to your house. The first person who measures your room is the person who will draw it.

What to have ready before you call

A plan, if you have one. An architect’s drawing is ideal. A pencil sketch with a tape measure’s worth of dimensions on it is enough. A photograph of the room as it stands now tells us more than most descriptions.

Whether you are building, extending or working inside walls that are staying. A kitchen in a new extension and a kitchen in a 1780 farmhouse are different jobs with different lead times.

The date you need to be cooking again, and whether it can move. Ours is 14 to 20 weeks from agreed brief to installation, and we cannot compress the paint.

A budget band, even a rough one. Our kitchens start at £45,000 and most land between £65,000 and £120,000, before appliances and stone.

Who else is on the job: architect, main contractor, interior designer, kitchen electrician, stone supplier. We would rather speak to them early than inherit their setting-out late.

A list of appliances if you have chosen them. Oven, hob, extraction, dishwasher, refrigeration and any wine cabinet. Appliance dimensions drive cabinet dimensions, not the other way round.

Finding the workshop

Drive into the village of Mickfield. At the crossroads, turn right. Go out of the village, pass the evangelical church, and we are the first business on the left.

We share the site with our sister companies, Old Fashioned Bathrooms and Reeve & Co Interiors, so look for all three names on the sign. It is a working yard with timber in it, not a showroom on a high street.

Put IP14 5LS into whichever maps application you use and it will bring you to the road. Mickfield is off the A140 between Ipswich and Norwich, about twelve miles north of Ipswich and four miles east of Stowmarket.

By train, Stowmarket is on the main line and is an hour and a quarter from London Liverpool Street. Tell us which train you are on and somebody will collect you from the station.

If you are lost, ring 01449 710510 and somebody will talk you in. It happens most weeks and nobody minds.

From the A140

Leave the A140 — the Ipswich to Norwich road — into Mickfield, and turn right at the crossroads. Carry straight on from there. The postbox and the old phone box are the first thing on your right, then the evangelical church on your left. We are a hundred yards further on, also on the left.

Visits by appointment. There is parking in the yard, with five EV charge points.

Nine fields. Two of them are optional. It comes to the same inbox as everything else and Torben or Oliver will telephone you.

We would like to write to you occasionally about our work across Reeve & Co Interiors, Square & True, Bryn Hall and Sporting Cabinetmakers. You can stop this at any time.
