What it is
Old Fashioned Bathrooms is a specialist in traditional, vintage and period bathroom suites, fittings, brassware and tiles. It is a separate business, run by the same family from the same site at Mickfield, with its own showroom and its own catalogue.
A good deal of what it stocks is not available anywhere else in the UK, and a good deal more is made to order in this country.
Why we mention it
Because a period house that needs a hand-painted in-frame kitchen very often needs a bathroom in the same language, and because finding somebody who genuinely understands period sanitaryware is harder than it should be.
And because the joinery in a bathroom — a panelled bath surround, a vanity in solid timber, fitted cupboards in an awkward eaves space — is made in the same workshop as the kitchen. Between the two businesses the whole room can come from one place.
How it works in practice
They are separate companies and separate contracts. You are not buying a bundle and there is no discount for using both, so use both only if both are the right answer.
What you do get is coordination: one survey visit, drawings that agree with each other, and two teams who talk to each other because they park in the same yard.
